It’s Spring…SOMEwhere

Sheldon, Iowa — Despite this being the first weekend of spring, the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls says it will look and feel more like winter, beginning later today (Friday, March 23rd).

Jen Hacker is a meteorologist at the Sioux Falls Weather Station, and she says the rain that started this morning, will be changing to snow.

Hacker says the potential for snow will stick with us into early tomorrow.

She says snowfall totals are kind of up in the air as of late morning Friday, but she says the greatest snow accumulation is expected in southwest Minnesota.

We asked Hacker what we could expect for the remainder of the weekend.

When asked if March would go out like a lion or a lamb, Hacker said to check back later in the week.

Desspite the wintry weather forecast, one harbinger of spring has arrived. The SCDC Golden Easter Egg Hunt began Friday morning, with the first clue posted. And no, I’m NOT going to tell you what that clue is. Just visit a participating Sheldon business and find out for yourself.
