King Sits Down With KIWA

Steve King OfficialSheldon, Iowa — As we told you earlier, Iowa’s 4th District United States Representative Steve King is in the listening area this week.

Congressman King stopped by the KIWA studios Monday on his way to speak to the Sheldon Noon Kiwanis.  We asked him about the House Speaker position that is being vacated by John Boehner.  King says he supports Florida Congressman Daniel Webster for that position.

Congressman King says the election of a new Speaker is about the differences between establishment Republicans and conservatives. He says Webster is not the establishment candidate.

King says there has been a lot of speculation about Paul Ryan entering the race for the Speakership.

King says he’s tired of a House Speaker who dictates to his colleagues, and wants one who will do the will of the citizens who elected them.

When asked about a recent tweet that said Congress was in chaos, King had this to say.

Congressman King was in northwest Iowa Monday, and will return for more events on Wednesday, before heading back to Washington to get back to work next week.
