Kooiker “Excited” To Take Over As Sheldon City Manager

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council has approved the hiring of Boyden native Sam Kooiker as Sheldon’s new City Manager.

Kooiker has been serving as Cherokee’s City Administrator for the past three years, and before that he and his family lived in Rapid City, South Dakota, where Kooiker at various times served on the City Council, and as Mayor.

Kooiker says he’s been very happy at Cherokee, but he’s excited to be coming “back home” to Sheldon.

We asked Kooiker about his management style.

Kooiker and his wife, Jennifer will be moving to Sheldon, along with their three daughters.

Kooiker will assume his duties as Sheldon City Manager on Wednesday, December 5th.
