Lake Park Man Taken To Hospital After Accident With Vehicle Driven By Orange City Man

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 11:15 on Thursday, the fourth of July (2013), 30-year-old Josh Boetel of Lake Park was riding a 2008 Harley Davidson Motorcyle eastbound on Highway 9 about a mile west of Highway 86, or a mile west of Vick’s Corner. Boetel came upon several vehicles that had abruptly stopped ahead of him. He was unable to stop the motorcycle in time and collided with the back of the rear vehicle, a 2010 Ford pickup driven by 40-year-old Kyle Wassenaar of Orange City.
Boetel was transported by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with non-incapacitating injuries. Wassenaar was uninjured.
Damage was estimated at $1000 to the Harley and $1500 to the pickup.
