Le Mars Home Sustains Extensive Damage In Fire: Orange City Fire Department Called To Help

Le Mars, Iowa — The Orange City Fire Department was called to help put out a house fire in Le Mars on Monday.

The call went out about 1 PM to a fire at 335 Third Avenue Southeast in Le Mars. The fire involved a Victorian-style home and apartments. Smoke could be seen for several blocks. When fire fighters arrived, the home and apartments were fully engulfed.

No injuries were reported.

Le Mars Fire officials called for help from the Merrill Fire Department and an aerial truck from the Orange City Fire Department.

The upper floor sustained extensive damage, and the rest of the house had smoke and water damage.

While the fire appeared to have started in the upper story, a cause has not been determined.

The fire remains under investigation.
