Le Mars Man Hospitalized, Then Arrested After Granville Accident

Granville AmbulanceGranville, Iowa — A Le Mars man was first taken to the hospital, then taken to jail after an accident on Saturday in Granville.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 8:35 PM, 32-year-old Eric Peters of Le Mars was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Suburban northbound on Long Street when he lost control of the vehicle, which left the street and struck a tree on a residential yard west of the street.

Peters was transported to the Orange City Area Health System Hospital.

When he was released from the hospital just before 10 PM that evening, Peters was arrested and charged with open container, driving while license suspended, failure to maintain control of the vehicle, no insurance and failure to use a seatbelt.

The Chevrolet sustained approximately $3,000 in damages.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the accident by the Granville Fire Department and Granville Ambulance.-
