Little Rock Man, Lismore, MN Teen Seriously Injured In Rock Rapids Accident

Rural Rock Rapids, Iowa — A Little Rock man and a Lismore, MN teen were seriously injured in a head-on crash near Rock Rapids on Saturday.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa State Patrol report that 22-year-old Zachary Voss of Little Rock And Sioux Falls was eastbound on Highway 9, a half mile east of K60 — the Edna road — in a 2006 Chevy, when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with a westbound 2000 Chevy, driven by 17-year-old Laura Erdman of Lismore, MN.

Both Voss and Erdman were transported to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls with serious injuries.

Voss’s Chevy sustained $10,000 damage. Erdman’s Chevy sustained $4000 in damages.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Rock Rapids Fire and Rescue, Lyon County Ambulance personnel, the Sanford Trauma One Helicopter, and Scotty’s Paint and Body Wrecker Service.
