Lyon County Charges The Latest Against Macmain

Rock Rapids, Iowa — Another northwest Iowa county has filed forgery and theft charges against an Ashton woman.

Lyon County authorities are the latest to charge 24-year old Nikarra Macmain.  According to authorities, shortly before 7:20 Friday evening (May 12th) they served arrest warrants on Macmain, who was being held in the Sioux County Jail at the time.

Deputies say the arrest stems from a forgery and theft incident in late December of last year.  Authorities allege that Macmain had forged checks on the closed account of another individual at a convenience store in Inwood and another in Larchwood.

According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Macmain is charged with two counts of Forgery, which is a Class D Felony, as well as two counts of Theft in the 5th degree, which is a Simple Misdemeanor.

At last report, Macmain was being held at the Lyon County Jail in Rock Rapids on a $5-thousand bond.
