Lyon County Riverboat Foundation Gives Over $260,000 To County, Schools, Cities

Rock Rapids, Iowa — The Lyon County Riverboat Foundation has distributed over $260,000 to the government entities in Lyon County.
The money constitutes the second quarter non-competive grants for 2012. The money is a percentage of the house winnings at Grand Falls Casino and Resort near Larchwood.
Half of the money is distributed to the schools, cities and the county, and the other half goes to non-profits in the competitive grant process.
The county’s three public schools, Central Lyon, George Little Rock, and West Lyon each received 43,368.98.
