Lyon County Riverboat Grants Awarded

The 4th round of competitive applications for grants from the Lyon County Riverboat Foundation was due January 22nd and the Foundation says they received 37 different applications from several organizations.

Applications were received form (Larchwood Fire Dept,. City of Lester, City of Doon—American Legion, City of Larchwood — Public Library, Inspiration Hills, Am Legion 103, Larchwood Betterment Club, Kids Club Rock Rapids, Rapids Threatre Society, Lyon County Historical Society, Lyon County Ambulance, Season’s Center for Health, Congregational United Church, Knights of Columbus, Lyon County Fair Assn, Fellowship Village, Inwood Museum, Granville Fire Department, Little Rock Fire Department, Inwood Fire and Rescue, Mid Sioux Opportunities, Lyon County Economic Development, Doon Fire Department, City of Rock Rapids, Lyon County Conservation, Food Bank of Siouxland, City of Inwood, City of George, West Lyon Community Schools and George Little Rock Community Schools.

The Riverboat Foundation reviewed the grants on Febuary 4th at it’s monthly meeting, with the awards ceremony scheduled for tonight at Grand Falls Casino and Resort near Larchwood, Iowa.

The Lyon County Riverboat Foundation sets aside 50% of it’s net receipts from Grand Falls Casino and Resort to fund the competitive grant program. The LCRF is the non-profit license holder for the Grand Falls Casino and Resort, which provides all the funding for the grants.
