Lyon County Sheriff Receives Anonymous Letters

Rock Rapids, Iowa — Over the past several weeks, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office has received a series of anonymous letters providing some information on criminal activity in the county.

Lyon County Sheriff Stewart Vander Stoep says his office has received a total of seven of these anonymous letters.

The Sheriff says some of the information contained in the letters has panned out for authorities.

He says he’s convinced that the writer of the letters is a concerned citizen who doesn’t want to get involved.

At this point, Vander Stoep says they REALLY need the person who wrote the letters to phone the Sheriff’s Office.  He says they can still remain anonymous.

If you are the person who sent these seven anonymous letters to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, please pick up the phone and call them at 712-472-8313, and speak with the investigating officer on the case. The Sheriff says you absolutely can remain anonymous, but his office needs your help.
