George, Iowa — A George woman was taken to a hospital after an accident on Thursday, March 6th.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 12:20 PM, 50-year-old Sandra Reitsma of George was driving a 2004 GMC Yukon Denali westbound on A-34, about a mile and a half east of the Lakewood Corner or Highway 75, when she drove through slush on the roadway which caused her to lose control. The Denali entered the south ditch and overturned onto its passenger side, coming to a rest facing east.
Reitsma was transported to Sanford Rock Rapids Hospital by personal vehicle.
The 2004 GMC Yukon, owned by Reitsma, received about $4,000 in damages.
Doon, Iowa — In other news from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested a woman in rural Doon after a property dispute call on Sunday, March 9th.
Late that evening, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in the 3000 block of 230th Street near Doon for the property dispute call. While investigating the complaint the deputy learned that 38-year-old Lila Klein was inside the residence. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says that Klein had a 30-day unserved mittimus in Lyon County. A mittimus is an order to serve time in jail. The deputy subsequently placed Klein under arrest and transported her to the Lyon County Jail.
