The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that just before 10 PM on Thursday, February 19th, one of their deputies arrested 29-year-old Tyler Sitzmann of Merrill.

The sheriff’s office says the arrest stemmed from several 9‐1‐1 calls reporting that someone was driving a Ford Explorer southbound on Highway 60 in a dangerous manner near Hospers.

A Sioux County Sheriff’s Deputy located the vehicle a short time later and attempted to stop it on Highway 60
south of Alton. However, the driver continued driving southbound. He eventually stopped the vehicle on his own on
Highway 60 north of Le Mars.

Deputies suspected that Sitzmann was under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and failure to yield to an emergency
vehicle.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, the Orange City Police Department and the Iowa State Patrol assisted them with the incident.
