Date posted - December 21, 2012

ambulance lightbarEverly, Iowa — A man and woman from Sheldon were injured in an accident on Wednesday (12/19) near Everly.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 7:05 AM, 56-year-old Michael Casuscelli was southbound on 100th Avenue — the county line road between O’Brien and Clay County, near Moneta in a 2012 Ford Focus. That’s about two miles south and three east of Everly.

When he approached the intersection of 360th Street, Casuscelli thought the roadway ended and took evasive action. He lost control and the Ford entered the southeast ditch. It became airborne, landing on its top and rolling back to rest on its wheels.

Casuscelli and a passgenger in the vehicle, 59-year-old Janet Casuscelli of Sheldon were transported to the Spencer Hospital.

Casuscelli’s Ford received $16,000 damage.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Everly rescue and Spencer Hospital.
