Sioux Center, Iowa — A Sioux City man has been arrested on a felony drug charge near Sioux Center.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that early on Monday, April 17, one of their deputies arrested 43-year-old Omar Bautista Rodriguez of Sioux City. They say the arrest stemmed from a traffic stop that occurred on Highway 75, four miles south of Sioux Center.
Authorities say Bautista‐Rodriguez was the subject of a joint drug investigation between the Sioux and Lyon County Sheriff’s Offices, and that he was charged with delivery of a controlled substance, a class C felony. He was also charged with a misdemeanor offense of operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
The Sheriff’s Office says the Sioux Center Police Department assisted on the arrest.
According to jail records, Bautista Rodriguez was released the same day on a $5000 bond.
Court records indicate he faces a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, May 2nd.
