Man Pleads Not Guilty To Felony Meth Delivery

Orange City, Iowa — A Yankton, SD man facing a number of charges in Sioux County after a traffic stop near Rock Valley has pled not guilty.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that they arrested 47-year-old Wilbert Givihan of Yankton, South Dakota in the early hours of Thursday, July 6th, near the intersection of 310th Street and Coolidge Avenue, four miles west of Rock Valley, after a traffic stop.

They say the arrest stemmed from a joint drug investigation between the Sheriff’s Office and the Rock Valley Police Department.

Givihan was charged with a class C felony count of delivery of methamphetamine, as well as possession of methamphetamine, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, open container of alcohol, driving without a valid driver’s license and no proof of motor vehicle insurance.

Givihan’s arraignment had been scheduled for Monday, July 24th, in Sioux County District Court in Orange City, but on Friday, through his attorney, Givihan filed a written arraignment and plea of “not guilty.” His attorney also filed a motion for bond reduction. At last report, Givihan remained in custody in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
