Marcus Man Airlifted After Accident Near Marcus

Marcus, Iowa — A Marcus man was injured in an accident on Sunday (9/30) near Marcus.

The Iowa State Patrol reports that about 1:35 PM, 22-year-old Zachary Hatterman of Paullina was northbound on E Avenue, four miles north, and a mile east of Marcus in a 2001 Sterling truck tractor, pulling a semi trailer. Twenty-three-year-old Jeffrey Brady of Marcus was eastbound on 430th Street in a 2000 Chevy.

Brady’s vehicle struck the side of the semi trailer.

Brady was transported to Mercy Medical in Sioux City by Lifenet Helicopter, Cherokee.

The accident is still under investigation, and the preliminary report did not list the amount of damage to the vehicles.

Hatterman was not injured.
