Memorial Services Scheduled For George Trucker Who Went Missing

Curt KrugerGeorge, Iowa — Memorial services have been scheduled for a George truck driver who was the focus of a missing persons case this past November.

Curt Kruger of George was reported missing by his extended family, after they hadn’t heard from him for more than a month.  His family went so far as to set up a “Find Curt Kruger” Facebook page to aid in their search for the trucker.

On November 9th, Kruger was found alive and well in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  Lyon County Sheriff Stewart Vander Stoep said that another trucker took it upon himself to look for Kruger at a truck stop in Sioux Falls and located him there.  A Lyon County Deputy who was on the way to Sioux Falls for another matter, was sent to the truck stop and determined that the driver found was, indeed, Kruger, and that he was alive and well.  The Sheriff says the deputy used his cell phone to allow Kruger to call his relatives and let them know he was ok.

Sadly, several days later, on November 20th, Kruger passed away.

Memorial services for 60-year old Curt Kruger of George will be held this Saturday, January 16th at 10:30 am, at Zoar Presbyterian Church of George, with Rev. Dale Lint officiating, with inurnment at Zoar Presbyterian Cemetery.
