Menning Honored, Scholarship Announced

Sheldon, Iowa — A coffee was held this (Friday) morning to honor Marilyn Menning on 50 years of service at Citizen’s State Bank in Sheldon.

Menning began working at the Sheldon bank in 1966, shortly after graduating from the Accounting program at Northwest Iowa Community College, which was then known as Northwest Iowa Vocational School.

Since Marilyn’s 50th anniversary at the bank coincided with NCC’s 50th anniversary year, Citizen’s State Bank’s Heidi Brown says the bank decided to offer a $500 scholarship to one Accounting student each year at NCC.  The “Marilyn Menning Accounting Scholarship” was announced at Friday morning’s celebration.

Menning stressed that the festivities were merely an observance of her 50th anniversary with Citizen’s State Bank, and that she has NO intention of retiring anytime soon.
