Middle School Fundraiser Far Surpasses Goal

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon Middle School students just completed a fundraiser to pay the costs of field trips and more for the year.

Principal Cindy Barwick said they had gone into the fundraiser with a goal of $12-thousand, but the kids blew that goal out of the water.

Barwick says she’s still working to compile a final total, but she tells us where the total stands as of Tuesday morning.

She says the success of this year’s Color Run fundraiser should allow them to forego a fundraiser next year.

She said she triple-checked her math to make sure her totals were accurate.

The actual Color Run will be held next week on Friday September 27th. Barwick says volunteers are needed to help with the run, which will make its way around the Sheldon Community Schools campus. If you can help, Mrs. Barwick asks you to call the middle school at 712-324-4346. Barwick added a hearty thank you to everyone who contributed to making this fundraiser a resounding success.
