Midwest Medical Transport Making Progress On Opening Sheldon Facillity

Midwest AmbulanceSheldon, Iowa — A few weeks ago we told you about a privately-owned ambulance company that was planning to locate in Sheldon early in 2016.  Those plans are still in the works, according to Matt Travers of Midwest Medical Transport Company.

Travers tells KIWA that his company has leased business space in Sheldon, as well as leasing a residence in town as a place where their on-call staff can stay.  In addition, Travers says they have two ambulances ready to go to staff their Sheldon location when it opens.

Travers says that Midwest Medical Transport’s Human Resources Department is in the process of hiring management and medical staff for the Sheldon facility.  He said they hope to have that process completed soon, and hope to open sometime late this month, or early in February.  He says it all depends upon how long the hiring process takes.

Midwest Medical Transport Company’s Sheldon location will be handling transfers for hospitals within a 45-mile radius of Sheldon, and will be available to respond to emergency calls, but only if their assistance is requested.
