Minnesota Man, Kansas Woman Face Several Charges, Extradition After Traffic Stop Near Sanborn

O'Brien Sheriff 71-6Sanborn, Iowa — A Minnesota man and a Kansas woman are in the O’Brien County Jail, facing several charges after a traffic stop near Sanborn on Tuesday night.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, one of their deputies stopped a vehicle in the 3300 mile of Polk Avenue, southwest of Sanborn around 7:30 PM. The driver of the vehicle got out and ran from the deputy, and after a short foot chase the driver was apprehended.

After further investigation 46-year-old Kevin L. Jennings of Cottage Grove, Minnesota was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with official acts, possession of a controlled substance – marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, possession of amphetamines, and no driver’s license.

A passenger, 28-year-old Kimberly F. Broyles of Blue Mound, Kansas was also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance – marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, possession of amphetamines, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both also were wanted on out-of-state warrants.

Jennings was wanted on a Minnesota felony sex offender warrant and Broyles was wanted on a Kansas warrant for a narcotics violation.

Both were transported to the O’Brien County Jail.  Broyles’ and Jennings’ bond was set at $3,000. Both face extradition by the respective states.

The Sheriff’s deputy was assisted by the Sheriff’s Office K9 and Sanborn Police Department.
