Lyon County Sheriff Stewart Vander Stoep says Lyon County Deputies and the Rock Rapids Fire Department were called out to 2961 160th Street, about a mile and a half west of Rock Rapids’ southwest corner about 7:40 p.m. on the report of a missing 3-year-old boy. The Lyon County Ambulance crew was also called as a precaution, he says in case the child was found injured.

The Sheriff says the fire department, EMTs, and Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputies were just getting ready to start a major search for the boy, when the child was found. The Sheriff says reports indicate the boy had been lying on his bed in the home.

Emergency crews advised that the child had been found shortly after 8:00 p.m.
