More Information On Sheldon Schools Taking Over Children’s World Preschool

Sheldon, Iowa — At the last couple of meetings of the Sheldon Community Schools Board of Education there has been some discussion about the school district taking over the preschool program at Children’s World. We talked to Sheldon Superintendent Cory Myer to find out more.

First, we asked Myer about the reason for the district wanting to take over the preschool program from Children’s World.

Myer says the Sheldon District wants to be able to integrate their special needs preschoolers into the Children’s World setting.

Myer says Children’s world presents the ideal situation, based on its location.

He says that by integrating the district’s special needs preschoolers into the Children’s World program the needs of those children will be better met.

Myer says there’s been no specific timeline set yet, but the change will probably happen fairly soon.

Myer says the move to take over Children’s World’s Preschool program in no way reflects negatively on that program. He ways the move is simply to meet the needs of the district’s special needs preschoolers.
