More Pigs Reported Stolen In Sioux County

Rock Valley, Iowa — The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a second incident of hog rustling in northwestern Sioux County.

According to a release from the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, the latest investigation is into the theft of 35 White Large Landrace breed pigs, each weighing about 250 to 280 pounds.

Deputies the hogs were taken from a hog building located seven miles northwest of Rock Valley, sometime between May and August of this year.

This marks the second time within the past week that Sioux County law enforcement is dealing with missing pigs.  You may recall that they investigated the report of the theft of pigs from a property south of Inwood late last week.  In that incident, 30 pigs, weighing between 250 and 280 pounds were stolen.
