Motorcycle Accident In Dickinson County Injures Minnesota Man

Superior, Iowa — Here’s the report on the motorcycle accident that DID occur in Dickinson County over the weekend.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office investigated an accident involving two motorcycles that occurred on 320 Ave at 3:48PM near Swan Lake, north of Superior, Iowa.

Two motorcycles were driven northbound on 320 Avenue. A 1991 Harley Davidson driven by Karl Palmquist (47) of St. James MN and a 2010 Yamaha driven by Earl Palmquist (47) of St. James MN. The two motorcycles were riding side by side through the curves near Swan Lake. They both failed to negotiate the final curve. Both bikes went off the roadway and collided with the ditch on the west side of the roadway. The two bikes did not make contact.

Karl Palmquist was transported to Lakes Regional Healthcare by Ambulance with incapacitating injuries and later air-lifted to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Earl Palmquist sustained possible injuries and refused transport on scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
