NCC Looks To Add To On-Campus Housing

NCC logo and taglineSheldon, Iowa — Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon is looking at adding additional student housing to their campus. At their last meeting, the NCC Board of Directors voted to move forward with preparatory work on a plan to build an additional student housing building on campus.

NCC Vice President of College Operations and Finance, Mark Brown, explains the Board’s recent action.

Brown says the current on-campus housing units are filled to capacity.

He says with on-campus housing filled, and a lack of abundant rentals in the area, faculty, students, and parents are looking for a “Plan B”.

Brown says the earliest an additional student housing unit could be built and ready for occupancy would be the fall of 2017.  He says that, in the interim, the college is looking into other, short-term solutions.

The proposed new residence hall would be the third such building on NCC’s campus.
