Des Moines, Iowa — Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey has announced that he will be visiting Osceola, Lyon, Sioux and O’Brien Counties on Monday, Aug. 26 and Tuesday Aug. 27 as part of his efforts to visit each of Iowa’s 99 counties again in 2013. He’ll also visit Worth, Hancock, and Winnebago Counties.
Northey will attend an Osceola County GOP event in Sibley on Monday. On Tuesday he will attend a breakfast with farmers in Alvord, tour the Agropur cheese plant in Hull and attend an Iowa Corn Growers PAC event in Sanborn.
The Sibley event will start at 6:30 PM on Monday at 530 Golf View Drive. The Lyon County event will begin at 8 AM at the Brian Mogler farm at 1695 Dove Avenue near Alvord. Northey will be in Sioux County at 10:30 AM to tour the Agropur cheese plant, at 332 Division Street in Hull. From there, he’ll travel to the Sanborn Golf and Country Club at 901 Sanborn Street in Sanborn for his O’Brien County visit at 5 PM. He’ll attend an Iowa Corn Growers PAC event there.
Northey, a corn and soybean farmer from Spirit Lake, is serving his second term as Secretary of Agriculture. His priorities as Secretary of Agriculture are promoting the use of science and new technologies to better care for our air, soil and water, and reaching out to tell the story of Iowa agriculture.
