Sheldon, Iowa — If you’ve been thinking about building a new house in Sheldon, there has never been a better time to purchase the lot than right now. The City of Sheldon has a trio of lots available in the Sunshine Addition, located on South 9th Avenue, for $1 each.
Sheldon Economic Development Director Curt Strouth tells us more.
Strouth says the purpose of the program is to increase Sheldon’s housing inventory.
Strouth says there are only a couple of conditions that must be met to buy one of these lots for $1.
He says that there are guidelines in place should the buyer fail to complete construction within the prescribed timeline.
