NWS: Good Travel Forecast On Tap For Thanksgiving Holiday

Northwest Iowa — Thursday is Thanksgiving day, and one of the things for which we should be thankful this year is the dry, mild weather that should allow us to travel to be with family and friends for the holidy weekend.

Kyle Weisser is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, and he says this weekend’s weather should be good for travelers.

He says your best bet, though, is to check the forecast for your destination before you leave home, just to be on the safe side.

At this point, the weekend forecast for northwest Iowa calls for no precipitation, and highs in the 40’s and 50’s.

Triple-A-Iowa says nearly 50-million Americans will be traveling 50 miles or more this Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
