O’Brien County Farm Bureau Spearheads Campaign To Purchase Grain Rescue Tubes

Date posted - January 5, 2012

The O’Brien County Farm Bureau has spearheaded an effort to get “grain rescue tubes” to every fire department in O’Brien County

Jay Hoftland says the Farm Bureau board identified the need.

Hoftland emphasizes that this is not just a Farm Bureau project.

Hoftland tells us how the grain tube system works.

He says it’s a quick and efficient way to keep the grain from flowing around someone. He says if you don’t have a way like this of keeping the grain from encircling a victim, it’s nearly impossible to pull that victim out of flowing grain.
