Ocheyedan Man Burned, Injured In Combine Fire Near May City

May City, Iowa — An Ocheyedan man was taken to a hospital after a combine fire near May City on Thursday.

Not all the details have been released yet, but we know it was a combine fire near 2426 Tyler Avenue, which is between May City and Hartley. The call came in about 5:35 PM on Thursday. The driver, Paul Hibma of Ocheyedan was taken to a hospital. He suffered third degree burns on his forearms and back, or about 17% of his body. He also suffered a severe break in his lower right leg.

He is currently a patient at Regions Hospital Burn Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The combine was totaled.

We have been told that the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is going to release more information. When the information becomes available, we’ll have it for you on KIWA and kiwaradio.com.
