One Taken To Hospital After Highway 60 Accident

Alton, Iowa — A Hills, MN man was taken to the hospital after an accident near Alton.

The Orange City Police Department reports that about 7:45 PM on Sunday, February 7, 2016, 48-year-old Frederick Kortlever of Hills, MN was driving a 2007 Freightliner semi northbound on Highway 60.

The report says that Kortlever told the officer that the wind caught his truck and it tipped onto its passenger side and slid into the ditch. The trailer was empty, according to Kortlever.

The Alton Ambulance took Kortlever to Orange City Area Health System hospital.

The semi owned by B.L.T. Incorporated of Le Mars sustained about $30,000 in damages, according to the report.
