Orab Homecoming King & Queen Crowned

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon High School’s Homecoming 2018 King and Queen were crowned during a Coronation Ceremony Tuesday evening at the high school.

After hovering the King’s crown over each of the candidates heads, Hannah Van Meeteren finally placed the crown on the head of King Andy Fjeld. Fjeld is the son of Don and Noelle Fjeld. Other King candidates were Bryant Dykstra son of Donna Dykstra and the late Keith Dykstra, Jesse Hickman son of King & Kecia Hickman, Marshall Kleinhesselink son of Mike & Rachel Kleinhesselink, and Tyler Lode son of Kelly & Lana Lode.

After Fjeld was crowned Homecoming King, Trent Van Meeteren crowned the 2018 Homecoming Queen. He held the tiara over each candidates head before placing it on Queen Annie Groeneweg. Queen Annie is the daughter of Ryan and Tonia Groeneweg, Other Queen candidates were Ashlyn Albrecht the daughter of Brian & Mindy Albrecht, Mary Margaret Borer, the daughter of Cory & Jo Borer, Gracie Elgersma, the daughter of Darla & Lee Reuvers and Corey & Teri Elgersma, and Trista Helmers, the daughter of Matt Helmers and Shanelle & Dan Matus.

Queen Annie and King Andy will reign over the remaining Homecoming week festivities, including Friday night’s Homecoming football game against MOC-Floyd Valley.
