UPDATE WITH RESULTS: Orab Show & Jazz Choirs To Compete In Emmetsburg Saturday

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon High School Jazz Choir and Show Choir competed Saturday at the 25th Emmetsburg Show Choir and Jazz Choir Show held at Emmetsburg High School.

For the Sheldon Jazz Choir’s 10:40 am appearance Saturday they were awarded a 2nd place finish. The Orab Show Choir took to the stage Saturday afternoon, and came away with a 3rd place finish.

Congratulations to the Sheldon Orab Show Choir and Jazz Choir on their performances at the Emmetsburg Show.

Sheldon, Iowa – A group of Sheldon High School vocalists, along with their director, will be rolling out on a bus Saturday morning at 8:30 to head to Emmetsburg, where they’ll be competing in the 25th Emmetsburg Show Choir and Jazz Choir Invitational at Emmetsburg High School.

Sheldon High School Choir Director Brandon Lenderink tells us who will be competing for Sheldon.

Lenderink tells us what criteria the judges will use when rating the choirs.

He talks about the songs that will be performed by the Orab Show Choir.

Lenderink says his Jazz Choir will perform three numbers for the judges.

He says the Orab Jazz Choir is scheduled to perform at 10:40 Saturday morning, with the Show Choir scheduled to compete at 1:50 Saturday afternoon.

Organizers say this year’s Emmetsburg Show Choir and Jazz Choir Invitational will feature 36 different acts representing approximately 30 schools from across Iowa.

The event is open to the public, for a nominal admission fee.
