Orange City Fire Station Ribbon Cutting Is Friday

Orange City, Iowa — It’s time to cut the ribbon on an over $2.5 million expansion to the Orange City Fire Station.

Orange City Fire Chief Denny Vander Wel says the ribbon cutting, open house, and meal will be this Friday, October 13th.

Vander Well says people are excited about the fire station building.

He tells us his feelings on the occasion.

A March, 2016 $2.7 million bond issue passed by almost 84 percent. The low bid of $2.64 million went to Sheldon-based Poppema-Sikma Construction. The project included 10,600 square feet of expansion and about 3600 square feet of remodeling of the old station, built in 1973.
