Orange City Man Arrested, Accused Of Making False Report Of Stolen Snowmobile
Date posted - November 1, 2013
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that they arrested 43-year-old Lauren Bylsma of Orange City and charged him with making a false report to law enforcement.
On October 21, Bylsma reported that his snowmobile had been stolen. However, the Sheriff’s Office now reports that the snowmobile was located on Sunday, October 27 southwest of Hospers, and they believe it was never stolen. They now allege that Bylsma falsely reported this alleged crime for potential insurance claim purposes.
The report was that the snowmobile had been stolen from a building in Hull sometime between March and September, 2013. The snowmobile is a black 2009 700cc Polaris Rocky Mountain King (RMK).
Bylsma was taken to jail in Orange City, where bond was set at $1000, according to jail records. He was released on a signature bond.
