The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 5:55 AM on Saturday, January 11th, they were called to the scene of an accident. They report that 21-year-old Karlee Gustaf of Bigelow was driving a 2000 Ford northbound on Highway 60, about three-quarters of a mile south of the state line, when her vehicle hit the rumble strips on the median. It appears she corrected and then lost control on the frost-covered road and rolled the vehicle through the median, crossed the southbound lanes and came to rest on the west shoulder of the southbound lane.
Gustaf was fatally injured in the accident.
The Sibley Ambulance and Sibley Fire Department were also called to the accident scene.
The Osceola County Sheriffs Office and the Iowa State Patrol are still investigating the accident.
