Pair Arrested After Results Of Testing Come Back

Rock Rapids, Iowa — Two Rock Rapids residents have been charged with drug offenses, one of them a felony after test results came back from a September search.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that on September 19th, 2015, they carried out a search warrant at 610 South Second Avenue East in Rock Rapids. During the search warrant, items relating to suspected drug use were discovered.The items were sent to Iowa’s criminalistics laboratory for testing.

As a result of the search warrant and subsequent testing, 59-year-old Danny Simons and 43-year-old Luz Simons of Rock Rapids were arrested. They are both charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) second offense, an aggravated misdemeanor and gathering where controlled substances are used or stored, a class D felony.

Bond has been set at $5,000 each.
