Paullina Woman Transported To Hospital After Thursday Accident

A Paullina woman was taken to the hospital after an accident on Thursday.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 2:50 PM, Donald Caauwe of Sanborn was driving a 2006 Dodge, and stopped at a stop sign in the median to turn to go north on Highway 60.
Caauwe failed to see a semi driven by John Graser of Hancock, MI also going north. Caauwe struck the rear trailer tires on Graser’s truck as Caauwe pulled away from the stop sign.
A passenger in Caauwe’s vehicle Machael Koenck of Paullina was transported by SCAT to Sanford Sheldon.
Caauwe’s vehicle received $6000 damage and there was $2000 damage to the semi trailer.
Caauwe was cited for failure to yield highway.
