Pickup Destroyed In Blaze Near Hull

Hull, Iowa — A pickup was destroyed in a fire on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 near Hull.

According to Hull Fire Chief Greg Van Roekel, about 7:05 AM, the Hull Fire Department was called to the report of a vehicle fire a quarter mile west of the north junction of Highways 18 and 75.

The chief says the fire department saw the pickup fully engulfed as they approached the scene. He says they used water to fight the fire.

Van Roekel says no injuries were reported.

He says the cause of the is undetermined.

Chief Van Roekel reports that the pickup was totaled in the blaze. A gooseneck flatbed trailer that the pickup had been pulling was not damaged.

He says they used under 500 gallons of water to fight the fire, and crews were on scene for about a half hour.
