Pretrial Conference Postponed In Case Of Hartley Man Charged With Drug & Traffic Charges

Spencer, Iowa — A Hartley man who had been due in Clay County court for a Pretrial Conference Wednesday, has had that Conference postponed.

According to online court records, the Pretrial Conference for 38-year old Jeremy Rose, of Hartley, that had been scheduled for Wednesday has now been postponed until January 3rd. Judge Charles Borth also set Rose’s trial to begin February 13th in Clay County District Court.

Online court records indicate that Rose faces charges of 3rd Offense OWI, which is a Class D Felony, as well as Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Methamphetamine, along with various traffic-related charges.

The charges stem from an incident that took place this summer, when Clay County deputies answered a call about a suspicious person who had been at a residence and advised the resident that he had been in an accident and wanted to use their phone. Clay County authorities say when they arrived, they saw a man walking along the road. Deputies reportedly made contact with the individual, who they identified as Rose.

An investigation into the incident resulted in the criminal charges, according to authorities.
