Date posted - July 11, 2012
Primghar, Iowa — More attempted burglaries in Primghar, and more reward money is being offered to help catch the thief or thieves.
The Primghar Pizza Ranch has now been burglarized twice, and the Primghar Library was broken into once, and a thief or thieves attempted to break into the library again recently, but were unsuccessful. Baxterz Bar & Grill was apparently also a target, but entry was not gained in that incident.
The first set of burglaries is believed to have occurred on Saturday night May 12, 2012 and into the early morning hours of Sunday May 13, 2012. The suspect or suspects broke into the Pizza Ranch Restaurant and the Primghar Library and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. Also during this same time frame the suspect or suspects attempted to gain entry into Baxterz Bar & Grill in Primghar but were unsuccessful.
Now, the Sheriff’s Office says both the Pizza Ranch and library were targets again, this time on Monday night June 25, 2012 or into the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 26, 2012. The Primghar Pizza Ranch was broken into when suspects gained entry through a window and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. At the Primghar City Library, the suspects attempted to gain entry into the building at both the front and rear doors causing damage to a door lock mechanism and a window, but they never successfully gained entry.
$200 in reward money has already been offered for information on the first set of burglaries in May. The Crime Dusters program is now offering an additional $200 reward to anyone who provides information on these crimes that leads to the arrest and conviction of the offender or offenders.

At what point will the Pizza Ranch stop keeping cash in the building over night?
If you leave money in the till and you get “robbed” it’s easier to estimate how much was taken for insurance purposes.
In that case, I have $3.2 million dollars in cash at my house. I hope I don’t get “robbed” while I am at work today…..
