Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Rec Trails Committee turned out to be the big winner in their own contest during Celebration Days in Sheldon.
The contest was Cow Patty Bingo — a contest in which you pay $10 per grid in a field. Then they release a cow onto the field, and if the cow poops in the square you bought, you win. They do it every other year during Celebration Days in Sheldon.
The winner of the grand prize — $2000 — was Greg Weppler. Upon hearing he was the winner, Weppler turned the $2000 prize back to the Sheldon Rec Trails Committee.
The other names were thrown into a hat and four winners received $125. Of those winners, one of them also returned the winnings back to the Sheldon Rec Trails Committee — that was NAPA of Orange City.
The other $125 winners were Scott Neff, Mike Christensen, and Robert Shirbrown.
