Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon native who now lives in Montclair, New Jersey, will be competing this weekend in the Miss New Jersey USA Pageant. The winner of this pageant will represent the state of New Jersey in the Miss USA Pageant next summer.
Jordan Rector began competing in pageants in 2009, and says she’s very excited about this weekend’s competition.
She says that, in the weeks leading up to a pageant, the girls go through a diet and training regimen much like an athlete.
Rector says the Miss New Jersey USA Pageant is an all-weekend event.
During our conversation, Jordan mentioned several times that she is very grateful for the love and support shown by people in her hometown of Sheldon.
Rector is a 2009 graduate of Sheldon High School.
