Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Chamber & Development Corporation helped introduce a new business to Sheldon’s downtown area with a ribbon cutting Friday morning at Plaza Queretana, a new Mexican grocery store, located in the former Little Puddle Jumpers location on 3rd Avenue.
Sheldon Development Director Curt Strouth started the festivities by welcoming Plaza Queretana, and it’s owner, Octavio Mejia, to the Sheldon business community.
Sheldon Chamber and Development Corporation Past President Aaron Prewitt echoed Strouth’s sentiment.
Skip Tanner, representing the Sheldon Ambassadors, presented Mejia with a plaque containing a segment of ribbon from the ribbon cutting.
The store’s owner, Octavio Mejia, spoke about the new store.
