Date posted - January 10, 2013

Dr Cody HoefertRock Rapids, Iowa — A Rock Rapids man is in the running to be a member of the Republican Party of Iowa Central Committee.

Dr. Cody Hoefert, a doctor of chiropractic from Rock Rapids says this all came about when Tim Moran, a member of the committee submitted his resignation. Hoefert says Moran is QUOTE, “a hard worker very dedicated to the conservative cause and will be a loss and definitely hard to replace.”

Dr. Hoefert says he thinks that the work that the county party has done in Lyon county has a lot to do with why he was asked to run for the committee position.

Hoefert says the replacement member will be selected by the 4th district executive committee which is made up of all the chairs and co-chairs of the 39 county Republican parties. He says the date and time have not been set yet, but it has to be within 75 days of the resignation. However, Hoefert says he has received some help from high places in the state party.
