Rock Rapids Man Who Slashed Tires, Lifted TV, Sentenced

The Lyon County Attorney’s Office reports that Jared James Gerloff of Rock Rapids was convicted of Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree. This conviction stems from a complaint filed in March 2012 that states on or about March 11, 2012 during the early morning hours, Gerloff and another accomplice slashed multiple vehicle tires in various locations around Rock Rapids. The two also stole a TV and DVD player from the Pizza Ranch in Rock Rapids.
Gerloff has been sentenced to a suspended one-year sentence in the Lyon County Jail and is on probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for a period of two years. Gerloff is ordered to pay victim restitution, court costs, fines, court-appointed attorney fees, and complete 75 hours of community service.
