Rock Valley Man Arrested On Sex Charges

Rock Valley, Iowa — A Rock Valley man’s arrest Thursday evening (March 14th) on multiple sex charges, was the culmination of an investigation by Sioux County authorities.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, the arrest of 29-year old Justin Van Veldhuizen, of Rock Valley, stemmed from an investigation into reports from multiple minor victims who reportedly stated that Van Veldhuizen had inappropriate and unwanted sexual contact with them. Court records indicate that at least one of the alleged victims was as young as 7-years of age.

Deputies say that upon further investigation they discovered that Van Veldhuizen had allegedly assaulted the victims at different residences over the past seven years.

Authorities say Van Veldhuizen was charged with two counts of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault, which is a Class B Felony, three counts of 3rd Degree Sexual Assault, a Class C Felony, and one count of Lascivious Acts With a Minor, a Serious Misdemeanor.

According to Sioux County Jail records, following his arrest Van Veldhuizen was released on a $30-thousand bond.
