Rock Valley Man Taken To Jail In Rock Rapids After He Evaded Deputies In Doon

Lyon County Sheriff Car Door 60-8Doon, Iowa — A Rock Valley man was taken to jail in Rock Rapids after he evaded deputies in Doon.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Friday night (6/7/13), about 9:05 pm their communications center received a call of a person that entered a home in the 400 block of Rice Avenue in Doon. When officers got there, witnesses said the man ran from the home and headed into the Lems Salvage yard. Deputies secured the salvage yard and called for the k-9 unit to assist. At about 9:45 PM, the suspect, 18-year-old Cody Michael Van Otterloo of Rock Valley was located, arrested, and charged with trespassing, a simple misdemeanor. Van Otterloo was transported to the Lyon County Jail and booked in at about one minute after midnight on Saturday (6/8/13).
